U-2 have pushed back the release of their next album to 2009. Speaking to the band's official website, Bono says, "We've hit a rich songwriting vein and we don't want to stop. This is our chance for us to defy gravity once again... I thought a while back we might have the album wrapped by now, but why come up above ground now if there's more priceless stuff to be found? We know we have to emerge soon, but we also know that people don't want another U-2 album unless it is our best ever album. It has to be our most innovative, our most challenging...or what's the point?" He goes on to say they've written more than 50 songs and are recording in the South of France.

September 23rd: After six years without an album of studio material, Jackson Browne will release Time the Conqueror.
October 7th: The Pretenders' Break Up the Concrete is aptly titled, as frontwoman Chrissie Hynde recorded the album with a whole new lineup.
October 21: A-C-/D-C fans have been waiting eight years for a follow-up to Stiff Upper Lip. Black Ice will finally answer their prayers -- by sounding exactly like an A-C/D-C album.
October 28th: Queen and Paul Rodgers release their first studio album, The Cosmos Rocks.
November 11th: Neil Young fans have waited for 20 years, and finally Archives Volume One 1963-1972 will be in stores. The set will be available as a 10 C-D/D-V-D box set as well as on Blu-Ray discs -- unless Young changes his mind again.

It looks as if Aerosmith will finally get back in the studio in October, according to the Boston Globe, which also reports that the band will tour next spring. Bassist Tom Hamilton tells us a new album is "close to being ready." The band had been working on material over the past few years in between touring and Joe Perry and Steven Tyler recuperating from various surgeries. Aerosmith's last studio effort was their album of blues covers, Honkin' on Bobo, in 2004. Their last album of original material was Just Push Play in 2001. This album has been long overdue!!

Do they still call them 'albums'? I don't even know. But this is really, after a huge amount of chiseling, we believe, an album in the old sense of the word -- something you can put on and listen to all the way through, and it takes you on a journey. No, not a prog-rock 'concept album' -- the subjects and moods in it are much too widely spaced -- but nevertheless a challenge to the listener to put his day on hold for an hour or so, be drawn in, make connections and experience something new." The new single will be titled "C-Lebrity" and be on our air soon!! The album will hit America Roctober 14th!

THERE WILL BE SOME THAT SAY "JUST ANOTHER ROCK N ROLLER THAT CAN'T HANDLE THE DRINK." WHILE THAT IS PART OF THE EQUATION IT ISN'T THE WHOLE EQUATION.
